Moving Update
We started moving on Wednesday. We're moving most of our stuff ourselves. We've got maybe 2 or 3 carloads left. We're getting movers to move the couches and washer/dryer. They're coming on Thursday. We want to get all our stuff moved before then. The highs have been in the mid-to-high 90s. Perfect weather for moving. Ha! It's supposed to rain today and tomorrow. It's not raining right now though, so we may be able to get a trip in today.
We're still living in Columbia. The cable/internet guy is supposed to come on Monday, and so we're planning on starting to live in Lancaster on Sunday. The cats know we're moving and they are not happy. They were especially mad yesterday because we stayed out too late.
Mac 'n' Chz
We drove by a Jack in the Box today that was advertising macaroni and cheese bites. Is that really a Jack in the Box thing, or is it just a SC thing? You can't take two steps in this state without getting punched in the face with mac & cheese.
Update
Well, the semester is almost over. We've still got about a week of work left. I think we're both looking forward to it being over. We're moving at the beginning of June. Not looking forward to packing and hauling stuff around.
Last Saturday we went to the zoo for my birthday. We took a lot of pictures. One of these days we may even share some of them. There were supposed to be thunderstorms, but the weather turned out to be really nice and cool. We had a great time. We also had Panera for breakfast and Andy made a strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting, and chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate leaves.
Josh: We just started season 3 of Smallville. So far, so good. I wouldn't
buy the DVD's, but the show is enjoyable.
We saw a few movies that you (and by "you" I mean "everybody") should probably avoid: History Boys, Notes on a Scandal, Tenacious D and the pick of destiny. . . seems like there were more. The Shape of Things (even though Paul Rudd was pretty good in it). I can't remember what else. We've had a pretty bad run of movies. Oh yeah, the Good Shepard, and Factotum.
Good movies: Everything is illuminated, G, Saint Ralph, the Baxter, Let's go to Prison (I'm serious), Blades of Glory. . . Reno 911 (but I probably mentioned that before).
I liked Marie Antoinette, but Andy hated it. He probably liked Tenacious D, but since I'm the one writing this post, it goes in the Bad Movies list.
We're not watching much regular TV, besides Heroes and Veronica Mars. We also watch Earl/Office/30 Rock. . . but I think they're pretty much done for the season.
I'm finally reading Strangers on a Train, now that I've pretty much real all of Highsmith's less famous novels. It's not all that good. But I can see why they made it into a movie.
Ok, I think that's it for now.
Movie update
DVD:
We saw the Departed. It was
really good.
We also saw Confederate States of America. It was pretty good.
We saw Domino a while back. It was pretty good.
Lady in the Water was not so good.
In Theaters:
Premonition is stupid.
Pollen
Don't know why I'm posting this, since you probably gave up on us anyway.
We've been attacked by pollen. Our cars are bright yellow. Our porch is bright yellow. Emma's nostrils are bright yellow. It's really crazy. Apparently it's normal and lasts for about 6 weeks each year. We've got about 2 weeks to go. It's everybody's favorite topic of conversaion (like people in Texas talking about the heat).
Other than that, everything is as insane as it always is.
Still Sick Dammit
I'm still sick. I still hate everything.
I think I'm getting better a little though.
I keep waking up with a fever and a really sore throat. Aargh.
I'm sick.
I'm just all kinds of crazy sick today.
I hate everything right now.
